The short version

CupboardMate is an offline-first app. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything you enter — your pantry items, expiry dates, and shopping lists — lives only on your device.

Data storage

All app data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage provided by your operating system. We have no servers, no accounts, and no sync infrastructure. If you delete the app, all data is removed with it.

Analytics & tracking

CupboardMate contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, no crash reporting services, and no third-party trackers of any kind. We do not know how you use the app.

Permissions

The app may request permission to send notifications (for expiry reminders). This permission is optional — the app works fully without it. No notification content is sent to external servers.

Children

CupboardMate does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. There is nothing to comply with under COPPA because no data leaves your device.

This website

This landing page does not use cookies or analytics. However, it loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers and may transmit your IP address to Google. Google's own privacy policy applies to that request. No other third-party resources are loaded.

🇪🇺 EU & EEA — GDPR

Data controller

For any personal data we do process (see below), the data controller is CupboardMate. You can reach us at hello@cupboardmate.com.

What personal data we process and why

The app itself processes no personal data — all pantry data is stored locally on your device and never reaches us.

The only personal data we process is information you voluntarily send us by email: your email address and the contents of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, providing support and responding to user communications. We retain email correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your query, after which it is deleted.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the EU or EEA you have the following rights regarding any personal data we hold about you:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict processing of your data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@cupboardmate.com. We will respond within 30 days.

No automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling as defined under Article 22 GDPR.

International transfers

We do not actively transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA. Email correspondence may be processed by our email provider, which may operate infrastructure in various countries. Where such transfers occur, they are covered by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority. A full list of EU supervisory authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu.

Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce features that change how data is handled, we will update this page and note the date of change at the top. We will never introduce data collection without clear disclosure.
